Rounding of Electronic Payments
All cash payments exceeding 5 cents, where both the company and consumer are physically present, must be rounded.
Rounding is not required for electronic payments. Traders who process electronic payments must:
- apply the rounding to all payment methods;
- display the following legal notice: “The total amount will always be rounded up or down” in the immediate vicinity of the checkout area.
Online payments, wire transfers, and payments made with meal vouchers, eco vouchers, gift vouchers, etc., may not be subject to rounding.
