Package Holiday: Tour Operator Declares Bankruptcy
Companies offering package holidays must have an insurance to protect consumers if they go bankrupt. That protection, for you as a customer, must enable you to:
- continue the trip
- recover the amounts paid
- return home free of charge during the trip
On the website of the FPS Economy, you can check whether a tour operator is insured against bankruptcy.
If you are still denied boarding for the return flight after the tour operator has gone bankrupt, it is best to contact the emergency number of the FPS Foreign Affairs (+32 2 501 40 00) or the insolvency insurer immediately.
